Lewiston Elementary: Back to School Information
August 2026
Lewiston Elementary Families,
The first day of school is racing toward us! Hopefully, your kiddos had a great summer break and are excited about returning to school. We are thrilled to welcome back our returning Leopards and extend a warm welcome to our new families. Our custodial staff has the building in pristine condition, and our teachers have been working double-time to get their classrooms and curriculum ready for an incredible year.
As a reminder, following the Cache County School District alignment changes starting this school year, Lewiston Elementary is now a K–5 school.
Below is all the essential information you need to kick off the year smoothly:
Important Dates
- Back-to-School Night (Meet Your Teacher Open House): Monday, August 24th, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Bring your student(s) to school to find their classroom, meet their teacher, and ease those first-day jitters!
- First Day of School (Grades 1–5): Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
- Preschool and Kindergarten First Day: Monday, August 31, 2026.
School Hours & Daily Schedule
- Monday through Thursday: 9:05 AM to 3:35 PM
- Friday Early Release: 9:05 AM to 2:20 PM
- Morning Bells: The warning bell rings at 9:00 AM, and the tardy bell rings at 9:05 AM.
- Please do not send your students before 8:40 AM unless they are participating in a scheduled before-school program. We do not have supervision available before this time, and the front doors will remain locked.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications
We strongly encourage all families to apply for the Free and Reduced Lunch program. Whether you think you qualify or not, please apply - you might be pleasantly surprised! As a Title 1 school, a significant portion of our funding depends on the number of students who qualify. It is strictly confidential and includes breakfast.
All applications MUST be completed online. You can access the application here: CCSD Free & Reduced Price Lunch (opens in a new window).
PowerSchool & Student Registration
- Current Families: Please log in to your PowerSchool account to ensure your contact information is up to date and accurate so you don't miss important school updates.
- New Student Registration: If you have a new student to the area, please begin the process online here: CCSD New Student Registration (opens in a new window).
- Note: To complete registration, you must bring the following physical documentation to the school before classes begin: Original birth certificate, proof of immunizations, parent's driver's license, and 2 types of Proof of Residency (one proving ownership/lease and one proving residency).
Bus Routes & Student Safety
Bus routes will be finalized by the district the week before school starts. Because of the district boundary and grade adjustments this year, routes may look different than last year. Please double-check your child's stop and times here: CCSD Transportation (opens in a new window).
Please remind your students that Lewiston Leopards are expected to be safe, kind, and responsible on the bus!
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Routines
All personal vehicles bringing students should wait in a single line along 200 East to pull up curbside directly in front of the school. This line moves quickly if everyone stays in their vehicle. Please be patient, and do NOT have students cross the street or walk between cars to access the school building.
School Security & Health
Our first priority is the safety of our students. All exterior doors will remain locked during the school day. Please enter exclusively through the front doors, where you will be asked to identify yourself and show a current ID. Additionally, to keep our faculty and students healthy, please keep your child home if they are showing any signs of illness.
Thank you for your continued support, your partnership, and the trust you place in our faculty and staff every day. We have the best school community in the valley, and we look forward to another GREAT year at Lewiston Elementary!
