Lewiston Trustland & Title 1 Plan Review
- Lewiston Elementary students will show growth in fluency, accuracy, and comprehension skills during the school year. Specifically, a school-wide average of 77% or more of the students in Kindergarten through Sixth grade will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year. [Note: The State literacy goal for grades 1-3 is 60% typical growth] The percentage by grade is listed below:
○ Kindergarten - 86% or more of the students will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year.
○ 1st Grade - 80% or more of the students will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year.
○ 2nd Grade - 80% or more of the students will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year.
○ 3rd Grade - 70% or more of the students will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year.
○ 4th Grade - 80% or more of the students will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year.
○ 5th Grade - 77% or more of the students will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year.
○ 6th Grade - 70% or more of the students will achieve Benchmark or higher measured by the Acadience Reading Composite Scores at the end of the school year.
- Action Plan Steps and Expenditures:
○ Acadience Benchmark reading assessment will be administered three times during the school year [Fall, Winter, Spring] to all students Kindergarten through Fifth and to Sixth grade students who are performing below benchmark at the beginning of the year.
○ Acadience Progress monitoring assessments will be administered bi-weekly for students at-risk for not achieving benchmark reading targets. This information will be sent home to parents regularly. PLC teams will review data to plan instruction and monitor student progress toward individual and school-wide goals.
○ Paraprofessional support will be provided to assist classroom teachers in providing targeted instruction and intervention. [$38,384]
○ Research-based programs will be used for instructing our at-risk students in each grade level. ○ Teachers will use computer software. The supplemental reading program, Accelerated Reader [Three year subscription: $8,602], will be used to encourage individual students' reading practices. Students receive “points” for how they perform on these assessments and are able to earn different rewards based on their point totals. [$8,602]
○ Classroom teachers will integrate Technology into their instructional practices to help with reading and writing practice (14 Computers = $10,920; 14 Monitors = $3,458; 8 TV’s/Projectors = $8,400; 5 Sound Systems = $2,600; Computer Software = $1,400). [$26,778]

Current Trustland and TSSA Budget expenditures
- Trustland
○ Para Professionals: We have $23,540 remaining as of December (Expenses are always reported one month behind.). We have five more pay periods. I’m projecting it will be just over $21,000 that will be spent. This gives us about $2,000 leeway.
○ Technology: I have bought 19 teacher computers, 9 classroom TVs and 10 Apple TVs. We have $5,809 left. I will be buying 12 more Apple TVs ($2,340). I would like to buy additional classroom TVs, but the matching funds have been used up, so it is better to postpone that to next school year.
○ Software: We finished paying for Renaissance (Accelerated Reader) and for software for the computers. We have $100 left.
○ We had 45% of our budget remaining in December. I’m predicting we will have less than 8% carry over.
- TSSA
○ School Counselor: $13,500 will be spent to help pay for a full time counselor to be at our school. ○ Para Professionals: We have $30,215 left as of December. I’m projecting we will have around $5,000 carry over. We have had to spend more implementing a new program we are piloting, so it may all get spent.
○ Technology:

Trustland 2023-24 Plan
- Trustland -
○ We can have a 10% budget carryover, but it looks like we will spend it all. The State is changing the form for Trustland, simplifying it. You don't have to write everything twice now.
School Community Council for next year
- Who wants to stay on for next year? CCM for 2 more years, Zina is leaving,
Other
- School Pictures - Do you have a preference on what company we use? (Life Touch has more of a reputation for making mistakes, but they offer more things. Bell has a good reputation, but we’ve never used them. Interstate Studio is a smaller company. Mr. Pugmire will be sending links so we can compare products.
- Why did we not have a Red Ribbon Week? The PTA and principal chose to not deal with it since the PTA was already really busy. The PTA could use more helpers.
